This is an excellent piece of kit for users of Jetboil and lovers of coffee, stores nicely in the cup and enables you to enjoy nicely brewed coffee whilst out in the field.
Turning my new Jetboil Sol into the perfect camping companion - a proper coffee in the morning is a necessity for us and this little addition to the stove does a wonderful job.
It stows neatly away in the stove - I have kept it in the base measuring cup when not in use. Some care is needed when pushing the plunger down as if you use too much force/speed the coffee grounds can escape into the mug, but that isn't such a problem if you are careful.
A highly recommended accessory if you have a compatible Jetboil stove!
I'm a coffee freak, no caffeine, no performance.
I loved the Jetboil coffee press, it's pefect for those solo trips where I'm travelling light in the hills, but still want a decent cup of coffee in the morning. The press works well, press slowly and evenly to reduce the number of grounds that are squeezed up the sides and into your brew. It works well for both morning brews and following consumption of a MRE pouch, the ability to leave good quality coffee brewing while I eat the contents of the pouch, then press and enjoy a full bodied coffee as the sun sets.
I've had the Jetboil for a while and, as a lover of good coffee, was intrigued by the idea of being able to make cafetiere-quality coffee in the field.
The press comes in three parts with the shaft in 2 parts which screw together. Once separate, these parts can easily be mislaid so be careful!
I've found that you have to be very careful when pushing the plunger down not to do it too hard or else the coffee grounds do get into your drink more easily than with a normal cafetiere.
Also, as is always the case with ground coffee, it leaves an oily residue on the Jetboil cup which will need to be washed if everything after that isn't to taste of coffee, which is okay unless like me you generally use your Jetboil just to boil water for dehydrated food pouches and then throw them away without the need for washing up!
I would certainly recommend this, depending on your style of camp cuisine.
