Pros Smaller pack size than synthetic Warmer per weight than synthetic Cons Poor performance when wet Harder to clean More expensive than synthetic	Pros Durable Easier to wash than down Cheaper Better in damp conditions Cons Heavier than down. Bulkier to pack than down
If size and weight are your most important factors then choose down. Recommended for ski tourers, climbers and anyone who has to carry their kit a long way.	If there is a chance of you getting wet then use synthetic. Recommended for bivvying outdoors and on the water.
