The inov-8 Race Pro 30 is the largest pack in the Race Pro series, making it an ideal lightweight, yet large volume bag, for mountain marathons and adventure racing.
The Race Pro 30 has a large central compartment that is compatible with the H²orizontal hydration system, please see related products. The H²orizontal hydration pouch can be removed from the bottom of the pack to so there is no need to unpack the pack to refill your water. By wrapping the H²orizontal Bladder around the lumbar area of the back the load is kept stable and tight to the back making the bag more comfortable. It features two hip fin pockets, one mesh and one weatherproof, a mesh lid pocket and a removable foam back insert. The lid straps double up as the compression system to reduce the volume of the pack when it is not full making the contents sit closer to your back.

I have used this day sack for 2 mountain marathons with the optional bladder system and the odd run to work without.
I found it to be exactly what I was after for the long events, easily carrying enough stuff for a two day mountain marathon in Oct with spare space to redistribute kit between my partner and me as required. I originally bought the 22ltr version as well as I didn't know which would be more suitable. Once I began to pack my kit it was clear that I needed the bigger bag and returned the other one. I may have got away with the smaller version for a summer event.
The fabric is very flimsy, although waterproof, and will not stand up to much abuse, this is a bag for 'events' only and not chucking kit in daily use. I can be very anal when it comes to attention to detail, particularly with expensive kit like this and I have not found any other problems (although as another reviewer has commented it is not very easy to use a non-inov-8 water bladder).
I am satisfied enough that I am considering buying a smaller version (probably 12 or possibly 18 ltrs) for use whilst mountain biking and cycle commuting.

Inov 8 Race Pro 30 Review

Good daysack for winter or week long trip for ultralighters or adventure racers. I used it for a week on Cornwall Coastal Path and it performed admirably. Stretch mesh side pockets will hold wet gear, but don't feel totally safe when holding water or fuel bottles. The stretch mesh 'Pulls' easily if snagged, so beware of branches and bushes.
The top mesh stretch pocket will hold waterproof jacket and energy bars, which saves you rummaging around inside the pack (Luminous yellow colour means it's easy to find stuff in the pack when you do go looking though!). Nice bungee cord and reflectors on the outside to.
I haven't used it in conjunction with inov-8 hydration system though. Doesn't come with hanging hook or sleeve for regular camelbak or platypus either. Hip pockets are big and roomy, one of which is waterproof,zipped pocket under the lid is a nice touch.
Very light and cool looking to! Decent pack, though not a world beater.
