This is the runners version of the Hope Vision R4 light. It uses exactly the same light unit and LEDs as the other R4 lights but only comes with the headstrap, extension lead and one 2 cell battery (small). The Hope Vision R4 Light Set is our most powerful light setup. It puts out 1000 measured lumens (not the generated lumens typically quoted by manufacturers) that means that it's about 65% brighter than the original Hope Vision 4. The R4 is primarily designed as a bike light but it's fantastic power and light weight have made it equally popular with runners, orienteers and adventure racers.

The R4's prodigious output is generated using four Cree XPG LEDs, which produce a very even, white light, and a refractor designed to create an even flood beam pattern. These next generation LEDs are built into a sturdy machined aluminium body which is designed for maximum heat dispersal. By dispersing the heat so effectively the R4 is able to improve efficiency and so increase battery life. Even on the highest power setting the R4 will still give over an hour burn time.

The Vision R4 has six power levels which are divided into two sequences. The Race sequence features the three highest settings and is designed to cycle quickly when needed without passing through a low powered blind spot. The Trail sequence contains the lower power settings and also a flash mode for when you need to be visible. All in all the R4 is a superb bike and head torch which is ideal for year round cycling and adventure racing.
