The Helly Hansen Womens Freeze 1/2 Zip is a super-warm merino wool and synthetic fibre blend baselayer for cold weather use. The Freeze ½ Zip uses the excellent Helly Hansen Prowool fabric, see below for more details. Flat lock stitching and low bulk cuffs make the Freeze ½ Zip comfortable to wear under other clothing and the front zip allows a degree of temperature regulation. This is a great baselayer for winter walkers and mountaineers as well as being perfect for snowsports use.
Helly Hansen Prowool:
Prowool uses a blend of 56% Superfine Merino Wool and 44% Lifa T3 hollow fibre fabric to give you the best properties of synthetic and natural fibres. On the inside of the fabric are the Lifa hollow core fibres which pull the moisture away from your skin. On the outside of the fabric are the merino wool fibres which trap countless pockets of insulating air to keep you warm and are also excellent at moisture transport to keep the sweat moving through your clothing system. So Prowool offers you warmth, wicking dryness, comfort, shape retention and durability. Prowool is a great answer to the choice between man made or natural fibres, have both!
