The Helly Hansen Trailwizard Long Sleeve is from Helly Hansen's Cool range (as opposed to their Dry and Warm ranges). The idea of the cool range is to deal with warmer and perhaps more humid environments where the standard Lifa may become completely waterlogged. To deal with this the Helly Hansen Trailwizard uses a mix of very technical fabrics. The Trailwizard back panel is CoolGrid. This waffled 3D fabric effectively creates air channels across your back to aid comfort and evaporation. The under arm panels are super fine aerated polyester, while the front, shoulder and arm panels are a Lifa/Polyester blend.
The med length zipped neck also allows for some extra venting.
The Trailwizard is a brilliantly engineered garment for performance in warm environments. You may think it strange to have a long sleeved top for warm environments but the long sleeves add full sun protection to the arms and extend the use of the garment into early morning and evening for those doing long or multi day events in the one top.
