The Helly Hansen Protection Suit is a one piece baselayer for warmth and comfort even in the harshest climates. By wearing a one piece baselayer you eliminate cold spots and stop water, snow and wind reaching the skin. This is the perfect baselayer for someone who really feels the cold when mountaineering, ski-touring and ice climbing but also a popular garment with rafters and paddlers. The other advantage of one piece suits is that there is no bulk or seams at the waist to confilct with armour, pads, harnesses and the like. The Protection Suit features a full length zip for when you need to get out in a hurry.
Helly Hansen Lifa Baselayers:
Helly Hansen Lifa is the most well known and recognisable base layer thermal available. It's not always been the same fabric though. Today's Lifa is a 100% synthetic hydrophobic fabric, which means that the fabric and the mechanical action of you moving about drive the water (sweat normally) through the fabric and onto the outer surface, where it will evaporate or soak into the layer above it. For any clothing system to work effectively then each layer must do its job, but with Lifa as your baselayer you know the job has been started properly.
