The Helly Hansen Charger Half Zip takes the classic Lifa Stripe Crew and adds a high-neck collar and a half zip to give you more flexibility to adjust your clothing to your activity level. When you're slogging up to Gimmer with a full sack you can open the zip up for maximum venting and breathability and then when you stop to rack up you can close it up to keep the wind off. This is a versatile variation on the ever popular Lifa baselayer and is ideal for climbers, skiers, boarders, mountain bikers and hill walkers.

Helly Hansen Lifa is the most well known and recognisable base layer thermal available. It's not always been the same fabric though. Today's Lifa is a 100% synthetic hydrophobic fabric, which means that the fabric and the mechanical action of you moving about drive the water (sweat normally) through the fabric and onto the outer surface, where it will evaporate or soak into the layer above it. For any clothing system to work effectively then each layer must do its job, but with Lifa as your baselayer you know the job has been started properly.
