Exped Syn Mat 7DLX Ł90.00

The Exped Synthetic Sleeping Mat or Synmats are a new style of sleeping mat. Warmer and more packable than a foam filled self inflating mat. The inflated Synmats are thicker than normal self inflating mats e.g. Thermarests but slimmer than an air bed. Instead of being foam filled like a thermarest or air filled like an airbed they contain synthetic insulation. This insulation is bonded to the upper and lower surfaces of the mat so that as the mat is inflated it opens out the insulation and avoids the lofting problems that occur with synthetic sleeping bags. Scientific tests by EMPA have shown these mats to be nearly twice as warm as a self inflating mat of the same weight. The synmats also pack up smaller than other mats as you only have to compress the insulation and not the foam.
EMPA tests demonstrated that regular mats lose 3 times more heat to cold ground than to the air. The conclusion is that a warmer mat is more important than a warmer sleeping bag. If you are cold think Sleeping Mat not bag!
The Synmat 7 includes an ingenious integrated pump to simplify inflation and prevent the moisture of your breath from clinging and freezing to the insulation in cold conditions.

Two wide mouth valves ensure fast inflation and simple deflation. Just one quarter turn closes the valve.
Similar to a sleeping bag, baffles between the mats‘ chambers eliminate cold spots and promote a stable and supportive air cushion.
Laminated polyester fabric is both durable and airtight. Top surface of honeycomb textured fabric provides superior slip resistance and comfort next to the skin. Seams and valves are all high-frequency welded (most secure method of fusing fabrics and materials) to ensure mat integrity.
For use as a pillow, 2 loops at head end can be used to secure the packsack to the mat.
