The Exped Dry Fold Bag Olives are lightweight waterproof bags with a roll top closure ideal for military and hunting users who need to keep clothing and equipment dry but can't use a brightly coloured solution. With a hydrostatic head of 10,000mm these have a waterproofness comparable to a tent groundsheet so you know they'll resist a good soaking.

The bag ripped only the third time I used it however, this was probably down to me using it inappropriately.
I had a water bottle inside and had attached it to my pack by the roll top clip. I highly recommend not doing that!
Apart from the rip it seemed very sturdy and the other one I bought is still waterproof and in one piece.
I have been using these bags for over 6 years now in some very wet Scottish weather. My kit has always stayed dry when using these dry bags. Also they are well made - that's why I am buying more of the Exped Dry Bags.
Having just joined the British army with little experience of living and navigating the great outdoors I was advised to look into getting bags to waterproof my kit.
Across searching the internet I found the exped dry fold bags to be the most popular and I can see why!
They come in a range of colours I bought the olive and black ones for obvious tactical advantages but they are also available in yellow red blue and a few others I think which I can see being useful for knowing which bag has your wet kit, warm kit, and sleeping bag etc.
So far the bags have proved air tight, waterproof and durable come in a variety of sizes and even if the bag Is to big you can roll it down and seal it compactly much better than the ziplock bags the rest of the guys had to use!
All in all great product, does exactly as it's designed to, easy to use and at a reasonable price excluded the added bonus that face west offer you for signing up and receiving 10% back to spend with them again which I will definitely be doing as the postage and packaging were excellent.
I purchased several Exped dry fold bags (olive) in order to individually package items within my Bergan for military training purposes.
Plus Points: Although the packaging states that the bags cannot be submerged, mine have been fully dunked several times and haven't leaked. I assume they may not withstand a prolonged swim, and Exped are covering themselves (fair enough), but for most uses these will suffice.
Minus Points: The buckles on these could do with being a little more robust. I have some older Exped bags which have a chunkier fastener, but the newer ones are lighter weight. I doubt they'd withstand much force if stepped on etc, but saying that I've yet to break one.
All in, these come highly recommended.
This is my third multipack of Exped Dry Fold Bags in the past three years, plus a few individual purchases, as I just keep on finding uses for them. Even the oldest ones are not showing any signs of wear and, to date, I have never found any items wet or damp inside, despite canoes going over and getting a good and extended soaking in wet weather on the hills. I also like to be able to clip them into something once the roll up process has been completed.
I have always bought them from Facewest as they offer the most competitive prices and immediately acknowledged my VAT free status which comes with the BFPO address. Their Rewards Points system is also a very welcome bonus. Can't recommend Exped Dry Bags and Facewest highly enough!
These are the lightweight type of rolltop drybag and are best suited for use as storage and organisation inside your main bag. Despite being lightweight they are still fairly robust. Some of this type of bag have a rubbery coating on the inside surface to provide the waterproofing which is easily scratched by hard objects. However, these have a fairly tough, more plastic-like internal surface which seems a bit more resistant to damage.
You can get alternatives that have a breathable panel for squeezing out air, however, the only ones I've seen like this have the rubbery internal coating which compromises on what you can store in them (only clothing mainly). However, it's still fairly simple to get the excess air out of these.
These are the best drybags of this type (lightweight) available.
Well, its a dry bag, and it does exactly that! it keeps my biking tools, socks, and lunch dry and cool and protected from the elements. The product sizing is pretty spot on i.e., I ordered XS and it was VERY small!, so just bear it in mind when purchasing, and weigh up what things are going to be stored in them and judge your needed sizing by your equipment you carry. Great little bag though, and I will be buying more larger sizes soon.
Having had several recommendations for this product and knowing it first hand from previous purchases, this is one of THE essential pieces of outdoor kit. Waterproof to keep all manner of kit dry, it is ideally suited for clothes storage, but also any electronics items which you need to keep dry. It is superbly light so does not add any additional weight to your bag. Also highly reliable, as long as you fold over the top at least 3 times, I have never had any of the contents get wet. Just remember to expel any excess air out of the bag before locking down to minimise space in your bag.
I would thoroughly recommend this product for anyone considering kitting themselves for backpacking, camping or simply travelling. Definitely worth investing in several of these in different colours and sizes in order to assist with storing and locating your kit.
I bought these dry bags as I knew that they were top quality. I already have the bergan liners by Exped and they have been well used in the field without any trouble. These are perfect for individually waterproofing items as they are lightweight, waterproof, and strong. These are ideal for cadets or military. Just to top it off they are also at a great price, especially with the Facewest reward points.
I purchased the Exped dry fold bag on the strength of a previous purchase of a dry fold bag and a pair of dry fold rucksacks. I use the dry fold bags for swim gear, my original dry fold bag has been in continuous use for about two years, it does not seem to suffer any adverse effects of [swimming pool] chlorine.
I can thoroughly recommend the Exped dry fold, it will keep your stuff dry, or if packed with wet gear will keep your bag dry.
Well done again Exped
