The Exped Cloudburst 25 is based on their 25 litre Fold Dry Bag, so it's lightweight, only 360g, and 100% waterproof. The back has been stiffened with flexible U shaped reinforcement that allows the bag to stand upright when partially loaded and not to sag off your back when in use. The back also has a translucent panel which allows to see the contents of the bag without opening.

The arm straps are lightweight double layer mesh which is breathable and comfortable. There is an adjustable sternum strap and waist belt, both can be removed as required.. The front of the bag has an elasticated storage system that also doubles to compress the bag according to the contents. The top of the Drypack Pro 25 is Exped's standard stiffened roll top that is on all their drybags. Simply roll the top over 3 times and click the buckle for a watertight seal. Key clip inside Strong grab handle at rear.

    Stu's Comment

The Exped Cloudburst 25 is not designed to be a large load bearing sack, it only weighs 360g, but is a fantastic sack for those moving fast with minimal gear. You don't need to use a rucksack liner so more weight is saved there. It makes a ideal summit bag for those on larger expeditions that also doubles as a dry bag in camp.

It's actually a good running sack (I use mine with a waist belt), maybe a bit over simple (no mesh or organiser pockets ) for mountain marathons but not many other bags come close in terms of weight and volume. It's an excellent commuter bag for the runner or cyclist who wants light weight. Possibly the most extraordinary thing about the Cloudburst is the price, so much bag for so little money.

I am really pleased with this pack. I wasn't really sure whether to go for this or the 15Ltr, but am glad I went for this one. I like the way it looks and the fold up closing system is very good and convenient.

I've only given it 4 stars as the waist strap is a bit short for me (we're not all thin) but the good thing is that the bag didn't bounce around on my back and did feel quite stable. I haven't had chance to test it in the rain yet, but don't think that will be a problem. All in all I'm very happy with it and will probably get another one as a backup (in a different colour) along with a 15 Ltr one.

I was looking for a compact day sack to carry small items for day trips etc. The advantage with this pack is that it folds small and will fit into your larger backpack ( use it as a stuff sack ) or suitcase and when at base camp/hotel etc you have a waterproof lightweight day sack. I wasn't sure at first whether to buy this or a smaller backpack, but now having tried it I'm pleased I went for this. The usual standard from Exped, quality affordable and very handy pack. Suitable for small, light items and can pack quite a lot in this. Very well worth the money.

I used this bag while on an expedition in Cambodia. The bag is lightweight and flexible. It held all of the items I needed for one day. When walking around it moved with my back, which meant it did not rub. It was also water resistant, so when it rained all of the items in my bag stayed dry. However, it took a while to open and get something from inside. It was very useful when I was just out for the day, as I did not want to carry my large bag everywhere.

I use Exped dry bags already and the thought was to use one of them in a backpack - but here was one better - a backpack that was a dry bag. Easy to open, lightweight, can rest on snow and wet ground without soaking the contents.

There is netting outside to which I attack my camel pack (that was the first problem getting nozzle out of a dry bag without compromising the seal) and tie on waterproofs if needed. Trekking poles will probably go outside too rather than make holes in the material.

It is my day sack now for hill walking and I will probably stuff it in my sea kayak and my plane as well as a travel bag.

Surprisingly comfy - adjustable top and waist straps. Good value for money although I do fear that I can hole it easily if it catches on barbed wire etc. So a bit cautious with it at the moment!

I bought this bag to use on a whale watching trip to keep my camera dry, as we were travelling on Zodiac boats. This bag performed perfectly, keeping everything dry. Quick and easy access to everything and very strong and well made, Recommended.

I received this item 2 weeks ago. The backpack is extremely light and comfortable to wear. There is a chest and waste strap which is actually important on a light backpack because it takes the strain of the shoulder straps which can be a weakness in lighter backpacks. I am impressed with this backpack because although it is only 360 grams it does hold quite a lot of gear for a day out.

I have used the backpack in the rain to carry my 3 kilo laptop and clothing without a problem and it did convince me that it is 100%waterproof.

The only negative points about the product I can mention are that because of the light material used one can only really carry a maximum combined weight of around 7 Kilo which in general is adequate for a small backpack.

I think taking the price, weight and build quality as well as the backpack being comfortable and fully waterproof it is one of the best smaller backpacks I have purchased.

Reviewer: Barry King, EASTBOURNE EAST SUSSEX   (18-9-2011)

I bought this product by virtue of previously purchasing an Exped Drybag, which I use for holding my wet swim gear, this has been in use, on a regular basis for two years now, with no problems whatsoever.

The rucksack is not only lightweight and extremely comfortable, in particular the mesh shoulder straps, but I can rest assured that the contents will remain dry.

There is also an added security bonus, in that it would be unlikely for someone to gain access to the sack [whilst worn] without you knowing it.

In conclusion, a well made product utilising quality materials.

    Well done Exped
