The Edelrid Python 10mm is Edelrid's best selling rope by volume in the UK. It is fantastic value because it is sold in volume not because it has been produced to a budget. The Python still has the easy smooth handling characteristics that Edelrid ropes are known for and has received the Beta Shield and Thermal Stabilisation treatments found on the more expensive ropes.
The Beta Shield treatment is a high quality yarn coating that protects against dirt and other harmful substances and also makes the rope resiliant to rough surfaces. The Thermal stabilisation treatment is a post-production heat curing that permanently improves the handling of the rope.
The Python is a great rope for indoor climbing, that's why it's available in 30 and 40m lengths, but it will also take you outdoors sport climbing and single pitch trad climbing. The Python is only available in the orange colour which is another measure to keep the cost down.
