The Dynafit Radical ST is a lightweight touring binding with brakes aimed at the skier who uses touring bindings for lift accessed skiing.

New for Winter 2011, Dynafit release a 'Radical' version of each of their bindings. All the new Radical models share the same improvements. The one with the greatest impact will be the flip height adjusters which mean you now only have to turn the heel piece once when entering touring mode and not to adjust heel lifter. Second is the new 'step in' feature. To enter the binding you now must push your foot in straight and level (no using the rolling method) but your boot is now stopped in the correct position by 2 new towers on the toe piece and then when you push down your boot will be in just the right place. lastly all the plastic has been removed from the toe piece base plate, which is now aluminium. The Dynafit Radical ST binding is the most main stream and user friendly of the Dynafit range. The Radical ST still needs the special boots and has less toe release than a full automatic binding but it does have ski brakes, easy step in and easy climbing height adjustment.

The TLT Radical STs are aimed at those who split their time equally between piste and touring. They are much lighter than a fully automatic touring binding like a Diamir Eagle, 1062g per pair as opposed to 1720g, but you do need compatible boots. The Radicals ski absolutely fine on the piste and you won't notice the difference unless you are a powerful and heavy skier, skiing hard, but once you are away from the piste and climbing then the weight difference really shows.

The Radical STs are maybe not the best choice for the occasional tourer (please see related products for other options) but for those who think of touring more than piste conditions then they are a great binding that will do everything.

Dynafit Boot Compatibility

Unlike automatic step in bindings, we need to have your boot to mount the binding, rather than just it's length, so you will need to send us a boot shell which will be returned with your skis and bindings. We can pick the boot up from you, just give us a call. Determine if your boot is compatible.

Ski Brakes

The Radical STs come complete with brakes. When you add the binding to your basket you will be asked which size of ski brake you require. The brake needs to be wider than the ski waist but the closer it is in size the better it will work.
