Dakine Wristguards Review
Reviewer: SDB, Glasgow (27-10-2010)
Wearing wristguards is highly recommended for snowboarders, and could save your wrists/holiday.
You wear these Dakine wristguards under your gloves, and the aluminium plate that curves round your palm takes the force when you fall forwards and put your hands out.
Even if you don’t have any bad falls, you will find that these just generally stop your palms hurting when you sit down for the 100th time to put your bindings on.
You will need your existing gloves to fit over these – they are quite low profile but inevitably add a bit of material under your palm area especially. Dakine gloves with built in wristguards are also available.
The only negative to these (or any) wristguards is that you’ll find that you can’t bend your hands down/forward when wearing them, but this doesn’t cause any problems on the slopes and is a small price to pay for the protection they provide.
Not an exciting product – but in my opinion a must buy especially for snowboarders.
