Product Description:
The Dakine Helipack is Dakine's best selling snowsports pack, a classic season after season. The Dakine Heli pack is a low volume, no nonsense pack for boarders or skiers.
Enough room for your safety gear and a few other items but very slim fitting and unobtrusive on your back. The Dakine Heli Pack is able to carry your board or skis but due to it's size is more suited to short access hikes rather than backcountry missions. A great pack for days on or off the piste.

Dakine Heli Pack Review

Great pack, but if you want fit more in apart from base essentials (i.e. shovel, probe, a hard-shell, sun-cream and a camera) I'd pick something bigger.

Dakine Heli Pack Review

What a great little pack!!
Just big enough to fit your standard avalanche-gear (shovel and probe) plus an extra pair of goggles, hydration system a little lunch or a spare shirt. But then it’s full.
Fits really great on my back (I am 182cm tall) and is great for chair-lifts since it is pretty flat.
I also have a Dakine Heli Pro, but this one seems to be just what I need for everyday skiing.
The carrying system works great too, but not as good as on the Heli Pro.

Dakine Heli Pack Review
Reviewer: Jon Hurrell, Kent (17-8-2009)
This pack was purchased for a general everyday ski pack. It is a perfect size in that it is small enough to not snag on the chairlifts but also large enough to accommodate the essentials i.e. spare gloves, googles, food, water, layering etc, with ability even to attach helmet on the outside. Would definitely reccomend to anyone looking for a dully functioning and capable everyday ski / snowboard bag.

Dakine Heli Pack Review

I bought this pack for skiing off and on piste. Off piste it holds enough gear for short trips eg. probe, shovel, tranceiver, spare layers and food but is not designed for extended or overnight tours. On piste is much the same story with the advantage of it hugging your back so as not to get caught on chairlifts etc.
As an added bonus, it makes an excellent mountain bike pack as it is big enough to hold a helmet and armour if you need it to. In all, an excellent multi use pack with only a few drawbacks.

Dakine Heli Pack Review
Reviewer: Thomas Jusjong Kull Henriksen, Hobro, Denmark (15-4-2009)
I purchased this pack for simple carrying, day riding, and works just perfect. It is small - just the perfect size - tight to the back. I can carry my lunch, some water, extra fleece and gloves and some accessories. In other words simple and little - but enough.
On the downside there is only 1 inner pocket for the water bladder along the back, and 1 exterior pocket. I'd have liked an extra inner pocket. If you are away for longer than one day or need more than one layer of clothes this bag will not be big enough (perhaps look for Heli Pro)
There is both hip and shoulder strap which gives an acceptable comfortability down the back.
All in all I am very satisfied with this bag and would recommend it for all that is looking for a small one-day ski or snowboard pack which can be used off the mountain as well.

Great Day Pack
Reviewer: Jake Herbert (Facewest Staff), Otley (16-6-2008)
I use this pack for Off piste skiing. My other pack was too big for simple day riding, so I thought I would try a better size day-pack. The Dakine Heli pack has just enough room for my Shovel, Probe, Water and a spare layer of clothing. It is small enough to be unnoticed even on chairlifts. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a simple day pack. The ski carry system works well, and it can also carry snowboards. It is robust and should last many seasons. Negatives: It's a bit small for bigger days out where you need to carry more food and clothing. Maybe consider the Dakine Heli Pro pack. Personaly I have two ski packs- a Heli pack at 11 litres for simple day missions and a BCA Stash BC (approx 30 Litres) for days where I am carrying more.
