Dainese Active Shield

The Dainese Active Shield is a lightweight back protector designed for skiers and boarders. It is designed for maximum breathability and comfort as you can have all the protection in the world but if it's not comfortable, you probably won't wear it. It achieves this comfort by using unique honeycomb construction hard armour plating. These plates overlay a foam backing which is itself perforated for maximum breathability. Fitting is achieved with a single strap around the abdomen and two rucksack-style shoulder straps whilst an articulated lumbar joint provides tremendous freedom of movement.
There is no safety standard for snowsports back protectors so instead the Active Shield is tested against the standard for motorcyling which it exceeds. This means that you know that you're getting the maximum possible protection.
