The Camp Rapid 260 pack is designed for ski mountaineering races and is a newer and lighter version of the XLP 290. However it's innovative features also make it a great pack for running, mountain marathons and adventure races.

For ski mountaineering the Rapid 260 features the Xpress Evo ski carry system which allows the skis to be carried on the pack without having to take your pack off. At the bottom is a side access crampon pocket, again without taking the pack off. A second pair of skis can also be carried. Internally there is a sleeve for a water bladder with top and bottom exit points for the hose and a sleeve for your probe and shovel handle. The pack complies with ISMF regulations and is the new benchmark for racing packs.

Apart from it's great weight and shape which appeals to the adventure racer, there is also the Truck Bull tow system. There is a little loop in the centre of the pack onto which is attached a 2m length of nylon with an elasticated daisy chain at the end. Towing is a part of any ski mountaineering and adventure race and it's great to be doing it more efficiently. All straps except the waistbelt are removable if required. The side access pocket is also great for those things you want to hand without stopping moving.
