Bridgedale Wool Fusion Trekker

Bridgedale Wool Fusion Trekker

The Bridgedale Wool Fusion Trekker is the perfect sock for year round use from day walks through to longer treks in the hills and mountains. The Trekker is built using Bridgedale's WoolFusion, a combination of tough New Wool and Endurofil yarn that ensures optimum insulation, moisture wicking and durability. This is achieved by wrapping the Endurofil around each wool fibre providing the ultimate performance combination.

The Trekker has a comfortable terry lining through the leg that provides comfort and warmth. Around the foot support is provided by Lycra which holds the sock in place and prevents it from rolling on the foot. The Trekker is a great outdoor sock providing comfort and support as you walk in the hills and mountains.

I tend to wear my Bridgedale Wool Fusion Trekkers with lighter-weight trail shoes and boots, and thus mainly for easier walks and treks. They are true to size and feel really well cushioned - Bridgedale have got it just right in terms of building in sufficient comfort for long days out, but without making things too snug and warm (well, at least not in any of the shoes/boots I own). In the middle of summer they can become a little toasty on some occasions, but not uncomfortably so, and likewise in winter they can cope well with a frigid day out without reminding you all day that you should have worn your thicker socks. Thus, they are a true all-rounder, and I only find myself picking out my Summits when things get really cold, or when I need to wear much stouter footwear (all season hiking boots) for my planned day out. Highly recommended.

I have just received my new Bridgedable Wool Fusion Trekker socks and I have just tried them.

My very first sensations are very good, They are perfectly adjustable and their fit is true to size (medium is ok for my 43 EU size)

They are sufficiently padded to wear them with mountain boots and trekking shoes, but not too bulky or restrictive. Warm enough for my purpose.

It is a very good purchase - I still have to find out about their durability.

Bridgedale wool fusion trekker has to be one of the best in the range. First time out today, fab !. Ok, so new socks feel good what ever the brand, but they felt good all day. Not too warm in mountain boots and good under foot cushioning. Will have more on order with Facewest today.

This one is among the best socks for backpacking with heavy load. A distinct advantage of non full-merino socks is that more padding does not mean a warmer sock. This is especially true for this one: I used on several multiday trips in warm climate with heavy pack, and it worked perfectly, the paddings did not compress even after 2-3 days. Definitely recommended.
