The Black Diamond RockLock Twistgate-Carabiner is a large HMS screwgate carabiner brilliant for belaying and rigging. Rocklocks feature a keylock nose which reduces snagging on the rope, and the Rocklocks large size means it is easy to fit several clove hitches on one carabiner while rigging belays.

The Twistgate design is easy to use one handed and is idiot proof; if the gate is shut then the carabiner is locked. The Rocklock Twistgate is an ideal for when you need a large HMS for rigging and for fast secure attachments, such as on Via Ferrata.

As with John below I have used these for my via ferrata cow's tails and what an excellent alternative to the screw gate! These are quick and simple and there is no fear of them releasing the gate.

Furthermore they look good and have an excellent action even when dirty or full of chalk. The twistlock function is one of the easiest to use and the more secure feeling. Excellent product!

I love the twist lock for my Cows tail it is such an easy application twist and snap and you safe. That’s the only time I use them though. For personal thought I use screw gates but both do the same job and the twist gate always ensures you do not forget to lock the carabiner, which I try my best not to but happens occasionally. The range of colours is the only downside I see some people like matching colours or like something to stand out and know what it is by the colour to grab it. Defiantly work having one or two on your rack.
