Black Diamond Hexcentrics were developed for the crack routes of Yosemite valley by Chouinard Equipment in the early 70's. Since then they have be come a stable part of the trad climbers rack world wide. They offer a cheaper alternative to the modern caming device such as the Camalot plus they have the massive advantage in that they don't walk in flared cracks and fall out.

Hex's are made from high quality aluminium that has been shaped to offer three varying widths making them very versatile, and when turned on their axis their tapered shape provides a fourth alternative. Each Hex has been coloured anodised, this is really helpful when you need to select the right size quickly.
