Black Diamond Fifi Hook

The Black Diamond Fifi Hook is an aid climbing essential that is also incredibly helpful for a range of mountaineering uses. The Fifi hook was designed to be hooked into a daisy chain on your gear allowing you to step further up your etriers to gain the next placement and it is still incredibly useful for this.
Most users will find it more useful as an emergency back-up for mountaineering or Via Feratta. With the Fifi attached to your harness you can quickly and easily hook into gear or a via feratta staple for an emergency rest. This obviously isn't an especially ethical practice but on long, hard routes it could be the difference between success & failure.
