The Black Diamond Ember is a capable Women's Backcountry all rounder.

The Ember is from Black Diamond's Power series of skis. It's basically the Women's version of the Warrant. As such it's a little bit softer in flex. This ski is targeted at the backcountry skier / resort skier who want a ski that can make the most of all snow conditions. It's an all mountain ski, that when matched with touring bindings will make it a go anywhere backcountry ski. This ski is aimed at those who will accept a harder climb for a better descent. For short climbs and fast technical descents this is a great choice.

Freeride:
We give this 4 stars. Good downhill performance.

Backcountry:
5 stars. A good downhill capable backcountry ski. Will be appreciated by those who favour a more performance orientated ski. Still relatively light considering the ski's capability.

Touring:
2 stars. It's a bit too heavy relative to other skis available. But for those who are fit enough and focussed on downhill capability it will be the right choice for shorter tours.

Facewest Verdict:
An ideal resort / backcountry all rounder. Only on long climbs will it's weight be a hindrance.
