The BioLite Grill turns your BioLite Camp Stove into a superb little BBQ. It is really easy to set up, just slot it onto the top of the stove and unfold the legs, easy. Once attached the wood can still be fed directly into the stove unit by flipping the lid open, allowing you to be able to control the amount of fuel going in and heat produced for cooking. And cooking with wood produces it's own unique flavour.
The clever design ensures that the heat created by the Camp Stove is routed through the Grill evenly, creating the perfect cooking surface for grilling food. And when you've finished cooking the Grille packs away into it's own plastic travel cover preventing mess.

When I bought the BioLite Camp Stove, I was tempted into buying this in order to turn the stove into an all-in-one cooking system. So far I haven't been disappointed. The quality is extremely good, it's light to carry and is quick and easy to assemble and use. BioLite seems to have thought of everything - the flip-lid makes it easy to add extra fuel to the fire and the plastic cover - which doubles as a plate - does help ensure that everything else doesn't get covered in grease when you pack it away after use. It does take a good flame/fire to produce good heating over the whole cooking area - so make sure you have plenty of fuel! The legs look a little flimsy, but so far I haven't ended up with my half-cooked dinner all over the floor!
I used a Biolite stove, with its grill attachment, while on holiday in Colorado this autumn. I was really impressed by the technology, build quality and functionality of this combination.
It is ideally suited to the dry conditions and forested campsites of the Rockies, and I was able to grill four chicken drumsticks and boil a litre of water with just a handful of pine cones picked straight off the ground. The stove lit easily enough, quickly produced a high temperature flame and gave an even heat across the whole grill. In British conditions, it might be necessary to plan ahead to ensure a supply of dry fuel, but I can live with that disadvantage in order to benefit from having a quick, convenient, effective grill.
This isn't the kind of stove that you want to take it to altitude, or on a technical expedition; it would be impossible to use in a tent or on a bivvy ledge, for example; but for car camping, or low-level back-packing, when you aren't in a hurry, it's ideal. It brought a smile to my face every time I used it. A great present for any gadget-loving outdoor enthusuiast with an environmental conscience. I haven't yet had a need to use the stove's built-in USB charging facility, but I am intending to buy the kettle accessory once it appears later in the year.
