The Arcteryx R320 Climbing Harness is the perfect all round harness suitable for traditional and sport climbing. Its four removable spacious gear loops make for easy racking and ideal for multi pitch routes, just remove one from either side to lighten it up for sport climbing.
The Warp Strength Technology has produced a strong comfortable and very slick harness. The nylon webbing belt is locked securely in place by an aluminium anodized buckle whilst the elasticated leg loops sit comfortably around the wearers thighs. The Thremoformed tie in point and belay loops have wear safety markers built in, so when you see the orange colour come through you should consider retiring the harness. The injection moulded gear loops are held in place by nylon webbing loops that are sewn directly into the structure of the waist material.
The waist is fabricated from tough Schoeller stretch fabric whilst the breathable Spacemesh on the inside keeps the wearer comfortable, even next to the skin. This truly is the harness for the experienced all round climber.

Arcteryx R320 Climbing Harness Review
Reviewer: Sampsa, HELSINKI (29-1-2012)
I've been climbing for 15 years and I've used through four harnesses. I've had one Camp Sherpa and three Petzl Sama harness and compared to the previous ones I’m very happy to have these now. These pack smaller than anything I’ve had before. They are lighter than anything I’ve had before and they are as comfortable as anything. They have four gear loops which is great for trad, alpine and big wall.
Some might wonder about the leg loops since they don’t have adjustment but I’ve never really understood why you would need such. My first harness had adjustment but I never used it. These I’ve now used wearing a T-shirt in +20C in the Dolomites and wearing full winter gear in -15C in Norway.
In fairly regular use a harness lasts about 4-5 years before the fabric wears through. This harness is slightly more expensive than the competitors but the difference is less than £10 per year of usage. In my opinion it’s worth it. It’s the best harness available at the moment.

Arcteryx R320 Climbing Harness Review

The original super-lightweight harness, this was absolutely the cutting edge when it came out a few years ago. It is still a fantastic harness - very light, and comfortable when hanging while red-pointing or taking falls. The waist belt folds up surprisingly small in a rucksack.
I use mine for absolutely everything - multipitch trad, sport, long Alpine routes, Scottish Winter mountaineering and Euro Ice cragging. Four gear loops is plenty for trad, and personally I don't see the need for adjustable leg loops even when Winter mountaineering.
The only customisation I've made it to attach two Black Diamond Ice Clippers - between the gear loops - for racking ice screws.

Arcteryx R320 Climbing Harness Review
Reviewer: matthew reid, ashton under lyne (3-5-2010)
I’ve had other harnesses before but they were all either too uncomfortable or too bulky but the Arcteryx harness is brilliant. It’s very light and extremely comfortable even when taking huge ‘whippers’. And very comfortable when shirtless as the inner fabric on the belt isn’t rough like on many other harnesses so it doesn’t rub and cause friction. Its a very simple harness to look at and almost looks flimsy but once you get over that the self locking buckle makes it very safe. I’d imagine my only complaint would be that the gear loops are a bit small, if you're looking for some long multipitch trad’ this probably isn’t the harness for you, but it's undefeatable on sport.
